DFO in Brisbane

Date: 20090319 (Thu)

xyz
Location: Brisbane

Event: Go to DFO and purchase Kate Hill bag.

I had a day off today. DFO was the only one place I wanted to go today.

DFO ( Direct Factory Outlet) is one of the famous outlets in Brisbane.

Over 120 brands are here and always at some discounts.

Although I have to save money very hard, I still need one more bag.

(You know, women always want one more garment or accessory)

Since I don’t overspend my deposit like deficit, I believe there is a good reason for me to shop for what I really need. And yes, I do need one more bag.

However, it was a long journey to get there.

1.      Walk to bus stop near my sharehouse. (11:30)

2.      Take bus 130 to sunnybank plaza.

3.      Take bus 598 to toombul shopping center (12:05-13:20)

4.      Take bus 308 to DFO (13:35-14:15)

It was not the only journey I can choose, but I chose it.

I was going to get crazy while I was sitting on the bus 598.

How could it take so long for me to get toombul shopping center?

Anyway, in Australia, we have nothing but time.

Therefore, I just sat and waited

DFO is not as big as I thought.

It took me 2 hours to go over every store that might have the bag I want.

Finally, I did get one bag I was satisfied with very much.

It’s from “Kate Hill” which the bags were designed in Melbourne in Australia.

http://www.katehill.com.au/index.html

I really like their style and the sewing quality.

Most of them are for Office Lady purpose.

What a pity that OL bags are not in my shopping list!!!!!

I don’t know if Kate Hill has branches in Taiwan, but I really hope they do.

I want to buy them all!!!

After getting the bag, I was about to go home.

This time, I choose different journey back house.

1.      Take bus 308 back to Toombul shopping center.

2.      Take bus 300 back to culture center

3.      Take bus 140 back to my sharehouse.

It saved 1 hour to compare with the journey this morning.

Date: 20090226

xyz
Location: Red Rooster, Brisbane

Event: I won the prize of Average Coast of Every Customer this month, but it’s not a fair policy.

To encourage the staffs in the counter to greed more customers and upgrade the cost they pay, managers makes a new policy that who serves the most customers or who makes the average customer pay the highest amount during 12:00-13:30 every month can get the prize which is a free lunch.

And I won the Average Cost of Every Customer this month.

And the little Bitch won Serving the Most Customers this month.

However, I saw something wrong with the amount we serve the customers.

All of us just serve around 500 customers this month while the little bitch served about 700 customers. I don’t believe the distance between she and other of us would be so large. So I asked the manager how she counted the amount.

Out of my surprise with her stupid mathematics and logic, the manager just sumed up the amount of customers every working day for each of us. The problem is, we don’t have the same working day here. Some people work 2-3 days during the weekday while the little bitch always works 5 days during the week day here. Smart you guys, what will you do under such situation? Do the AVARAGE!!! Of course!!

If we don’t do the average (the average amount of customers every working day!!), then the little bitch will be always the winner!!!! I told the manger about it, but she didn’t seem to understand what I am talking about. So I give up, I don’t want to make others think I am the one who is eager to be the winner. That makes me look stingy.

I don’t care about the new policy since I know it’s non sense and with no fair.

Think about it, if you want to serve more customers, then you cannot spend too much time on every customer by asking them buying (spending) more. You might serve 100 customers per hour but they might only buy just a drink (which is quick and low price $3 purchase. The income is only $3000). You might serve 40 customers per hour but each of them spends the average of 10 dollars. (The income is $4000). Who contribute more?

In my opinion, the winner is BOTH of course because they work so hard. Since they both the winner, they should deserve the SAME prizes.

And I found out that the manager “secretly” gave the bitch $ 20 in cash.

How can that little bitch won the cash instead of the free lunch since we had a deal that the prize is FREE LUNCH.xyz

(My Chinese colleague Rain said they are 狼狽)

I was very anger and told Rain immediately. We both hate bitch very very very much. She was surprised at the unfair game rule. She said “What a stupid competition!!!” I told her I don’t want to argue anymore because it makes me look stingy.

Rain told me “See, that’s how we think about ourselves. We know that’s not good. And that’s also why the bitch is always the bitch.” It makes sense so much!!

 xyz

I start to wonder. Is there any truly fair competition? Maybe luck is also the part of factors in such game. Maybe trick is also important. Some people cheat to win the prize. They might say they have their own ways to get the best outcome, it also their abilities those looser don’t have. Maybe, every system has its loophole(漏洞), and the smart people (or bitch) knows how to make use of it well. Some honest and kind people who choose to follow the game step by step will never be the winner. Maybe it’s the same in our society. Trick is the key.

There are too many things that happen with the violation of my thought or our logic in this world. (not only work)

I am always too eager to try to change something but it really doesn’t matter you might say. I am getting to know this is how the world is. We all have to struggle with it so hard and so tired, sometimes. Why don’t I just learn how to compromise? Will the compromise makes me easier and happier to live? Should I really compromise? I don’t know. It’s tough and I am so tired. I don’t what to be like this. Changing the world around me is just too hard. Compromising the world around me is just too weak. Who the hell do I think I am to change something? Fuck off all these stupid people and stupid things.

Maybe I can try Compromising with tricks.

Phin

 Date: 20090220( Fri)

Location: Brisbane

Phin.

Phin.

xyz

100_6713_nEO_IMG.jpg

I am very sorry to bother you. Thank you so much

You’re all right, Thanks for telling me.

Thanks for telling me

Coconut, you told me that you will get some days off in March?

Yes, the first week.xyz

mm…I don’t have enough staff right now…so.. where are you going?

Sydney!!

That’s great! Did you already book the fight? Or Can you just change the date?

Sorry, I have already booked them

mmm… You’ re all right. I will try to figure out!

Coconut needs more working hours…

Phin:Coconut, Could you please help me out here? Please~~ I really need more staffs at Friday noon.

Coconut:mm….I will ask the manager of 7-Eleven and let you know as soon as possible!

Coconut:Haha.. why do you already write my name on it?

Yeah~ You will work at 12!!! See you at 12 Next Friday!!

Hi, Phin. I am sure I can work at 12 next Fri. Don’t worry. I do this because u r a good manager!!! :D

他回「You are the best!! I owe you a bubble tea!!

I don’t need a bubble tea, but more working hours!!!!!

Serve the customers, guys

DATE: 20090218 (Wed)

Location: Brisbane

Event: Autumn is coming

FijiNew Zealandback to Australia

20090210 Tue

Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane

Good bye, Macgregor. Good day, Sunnybank hills.

Annie

xyz

DSCF8889.JPG

 DSCF8891.JPG

    My room

Date: 20090424 Fri.

Route: Jackson's Resort Campervan Park- Authur's Pass- Hokitika- Franz Josef Glacier

Suprising Stars: 3 (1-5)

xyzDay 08-11 031.jpg

Authur's Pass was mountains famous for climbing or tramping,

and also famous for its sceneries.

That's why we were here.

However, we could only choose one short term route to walk.

After asking i-site, they suggested us to Devils Punchbowl Falls.

Unfortunately, the only memories we got here were

  1. We lost the direction to Devils Punchbowl Falls
  2. We lost one of our member- Matthew for half an hour.

Matthew was left behind us far away because he kept stopping and taking photos.

He turned to another walk up to the mountain while we kept walking along the road.

We went back to the last place we saw him and began to look for him.

“Matthew! Where are you?”

We checked under the bridge, along the creek, and even behind the bush, there were nothing.

We knew he wouldn't disappear like that but we still wanted to know where he was.

We decided to shout out all together with all our energy to all the mountain in front of us to see if he would hear or not.

This time, we called out directly in his Chinese full name.

“There he is!” I saw him first!

He was in the waist of the mountain waving his arms to us.

We all laughed out crazily.

That's an interning memory.

So, I didn't see the best beauty of Authur's pass.

We, except Enya, spent all the afternoon in the jade factory to purchase some jades.

The reason why we were like nuts and couldn't help ourselves leaving the jade factory is stupid!

It was because people say when wearing the jade, it brings not only health and positive energy, but also good luck and fortune($$$)!

We were all crazy about money!!! hahaha...

Actually, there are several main kinds of shapes of Jade.

Fish Hook(the one brings fortune), Spiral (symbol of new beginnings), Twist(symbol of friednship), and son on.

We all pick one Fish Hook for ourselves, who really want to be rich.

I was the driver while driving out of Mt. Cook along Lake Pukaki.

Every time I made a turn along the mountain road and saw another angle of pretty lake showing up in front of me, I really wanted to pull up and take some photos.

It was Sammi, Matthew, and me sitting in the front seat then,

It was the first day of new month.

Everything seemed getting better from today!!!!

I did it! Sky Diving!

It cost me NZD$440 but totally worthy it!

It was freezy (3 degree) early morning at 5:00AM.

Surprisingly, the sky was soooo clear in the dark.

We could see every star in the sky.

We made a quick decision while eating breakfast-- We ganna do it!

Sorry for calling Jim so early at 7:00am.xyz

All the crews all woke up earlier than before for us to warm up the aircraft.

(It's too cold to warm up the aircraft quickly.)

Thanks for the coach. He made us feel safe.

The coach, who probably is also the boss there, is a man 200 cm tall in older age.

He already did sky diving for 20 years.

18 times jumping in a day for his highest record so far.

“Wow~The job must be easy for you!” I said.

“Well” he paused for a while and said “I respect this job because the ground is hard.”

He emphasized the word “respect” while talking.

“No drink, mind clear, take care of customers like you...”

At that moment, I wasn't afraid anymore!

I got strong feeling of trusting the coach.

I knew he would make everything safe completely.

“OK! Let's go!! Take me fly in the sky~~~~~” I think to myself!

 day 0501 (3).jpg

The scenery from the sky was so amazing with all the snow in the peak of the mountains.

And also the whole Lake Te Anau, Fiordland, the sea and the sky.

After a 15 minutes scenery-view in the small plant, we jumped!

 day 0501 (8).JPG

It was empty in my mind at the moment we jumped down.

With a short screaming, I remembered to keep my smile because vedio was on!

I enjoyed the free falling very much.

It was so soon that the parachute was opened.

Then we turned around and made some circles in the air.

I didn't know the speed we were falling but I know to seize on the chance to keep my eye open and appreciated the view.

I could see my friends waving their hands beneath me.

They were outside the small house like a match box in the big farm.

I waved my hands in the air, too.

The 200cm tall coach said to me “You are a brave girl” several times.

I also thanked them for several times.

It was a wonderful experience.

Invercargill, the southest city I have ever been.

(wei-du 46 on earth)

It was cold!!

Even with the nice weather and smiling big sun, it still was cold.

I kept putting on my clothes and taking off them in this big city because xyz

it was cold on the street but warm in every store.

They got heater in every shop.

We spent some time in Starbucks.

I didn't really like this city; it's too big.

I think it's bigger than Christchurch.

We were supposed to arrive at Dunedin tonight but failed.

We stayed at the southest spot of South Island called “Curio Bay”

We couldn't find some comfortable holiday park with hot shower but a simple camp site of national park.

It was windy and cold there.

There was nothing but a empty space.

We decided to stayed at backpacker.

Otherwise, we probably freeze at midnight.

(Pretty Queenstown Garden)

Date: 20090429 Wed

Route: Queenstown- Te Anau.

Day 12-14 225.jpg

Well, according to my notebook, I wrote something in Chinese describing the beauty of what I saw at some moment.

The moment while I sat in a chocolate shop facing  a large Franch window.

I could see the autumn, that's right, beautiful autumn again, DANCING outside.

I think my description was great however I can't represent it now in English.

Just keep it as my own secret with the autumn I met here in Queenstown.

This morning, we strolled in the Queenstown Garden.

It was beautiful.

I can't remember now.

Even the camera didn't record those memories, either.

All I remember was we had a bad cloudy and rainy day.

Franz Josef Glacier

Date: 20090425 Sat.

Route: Franz Josef Glacier/ ANZ day

Surprising Stars: 5 (1-5)

day09 (17).JPG

There was only one company operating the climbing activities in Franz Josef Glacier.

So was Fox Glacier.

Since the price is not so unreasonable and it saves tourists' time from choosing,

such monopoly is good.

I believe the government of New Zealand does keep an eye on those monopoly companies.

Day 08-11 088.jpg

The company provides Gore-Tax water prof coat, pants, boots, thick socks, gloves and beanie that keep from wet and being warm.

The boots are not common boots, but the ones let you walk well on the slippy ice and rocks.

day09 (7).JPG

xyzPhoto: It took more than 30 minutes to walk to the glacier.

P1010940.JPG

Photo: A pair of special boots is needed.

The glacier dissolve one meter each day!!! That is a terrible data.

The color of the glacier changes often because of the sun light.

Sometimes it is all blue and sometimes white.

The tour guide tried to make some ice ladders with his hammer for us to step up.

The gesture of profession was really handsome.

I believe anyone who makes an ice ladder in front of me successfully, I will quickly fall in love with him. (Haha)

Day 08-11 147.jpg

The temperature was not as low as I thought.

However, it was rainy and windy in the afternoon when it became colder.

 Day 08-11 175.jpg

Photo:

 Day 08-11 269.jpg

Photo: Can you see people in such huge glacier?

The most interesting part was squeeze into some narrow slippy tunnels one by one.

Because the weather around this glacier is warmer than other glacier, the glacier changes all the time.

It means, the tunnels or the holes are not always located where they are now.

Now you see a tunnel, maybe next hour, it has became a deep cliff.

“Thanks” to the globle warming, they change faster.

Day 08-11 188.jpg

An accidence happened in the dark evening while we were about to leave.

We reversed the campervan out of the road and the back tire got stuck.

The campervan just located in the middle of the dark road!

The sky started to rain, we tried to push but in vain.

Now, we started to worry.

I didn't know what other people worried about but

I worried about the damage fee of insurance.

Fortunately, 3 cars pulled up and 4 strangers came up for help.

Finally, the crisis dismissed!

It was also a special memories in this trip.

We can only say “People from New Zealand are sooooo nice and enthusiastic!!

Since it started to rain and it's more dangerous to drive in the dark night, we decided to stay here one more night.

“Maybe such little accident was arranged to prevent us from terrible damage if we kept driving at night.” I thought in my mind.

“Thank god!”

Date: 20090422 Thu.

Route: St. Arnauda Hammer Springsa Reefton

Surprising Stars: 5 (1-5)

Day06.jpg

Hammer Spring.

Hammer Spring

Maruia Spring.

xyz
Wentworth Falls,

Done!

Nelson

Date: 20090420 Mon.

Route: PictonaNelsonaMotueka

Surprising Stars: 3 (1-5)

NZ Day04 (80).jpg

Nelson.

Nelson

Trafalgar Street

South Street

It’s windy, isn’t it?

xyz

Day 02: Toward Kaikoura

Route: Christchurch(基督城) a Cheviot a Kaikoura

Surprising Stars: 2 (1~5)

Day 02 167.jpg

Alpine Pacific Triangle.

map Kaikoura.jpg

Kaikoura

Day 12-14 225.jpg

Dear All:

I have been back from amazing New Zealand.

There are too many stories to be told.

There are too many photos to be showed.

I choose to take my time to post all the articles and

let you know the beauty of New Zealand as possible as I can.

However, i can tell you now that

New Zealand in Autumn is made up by lots of yellow color.

And the temporature was so low that we woke up belowed 5 degree(even belowed 0 degree) every morning.

In New Zealand

I saw cute fur seals and seal lions at the beach.

I saw little yellow-eyed penguins walking toword their nests at the beach.

I saw the most beautiful lake I have ever seen in my life, Lake Pukaki.

I saw the famous Mt. Cook and the all-year- permanent snow peaks all over the mountains.

I understood what's so called the beauty of autumn.

I jumped from 13,000 feet high from the sky in Te Anau.

I have been to the southest place (南緯46度) on earth in my life, where was so cold.

I climbed up the Franz Josef Glacier with all the ice mountain all around me.

there are too many thing to be told at once.

Just wait my blog.

I will tell you more as much as possible.

Date: Preparing for New Zealand in advance

Event: Campervan Booking

(Campervan)

Britz- Voyager campervan 4 Berth

(quote)

 New Zealand- 02.訂露營車 campervan specifications.jpg

Coconut!

Anyway,

20090329 update:

Date: Preparing New Zealand in advance.

(Visitor's Visa)

u          Visitor’s Visa/ Permit Application

(
)

Sydney

(Level 10, 55 Hunter Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, AUSTRALIA)

(GPO BOX 365, Sydney NSW 2001Immigration New Zealand)

xyz

02.    Visitor’s Visa/ Permit Application

BrisbaneChristchurchPacific Blue(AUD$254)

ChristchurchMelbournePacific Blue (AUD$115)

NAB( National Australia Bank)

Bank Statement

Bank Statement

Name, arrival date, departure date, transportation, members

08.    簽證費()

(Even $115)

Date: 20090518 Mon.xyz

Location: Hamilton, Victoria

Event: I am a baby sitter now.

When I woke up this morning, I felt a little sad for my leaving today.

I would never see the dog Kabbah and I would never need to prepare the horse food anymore.

There was another new life style waiting for me in Hamilton.

Lori gave me a hug and went out for work.

Libby was the one who drove me to the station.

“That’s it! Have a great time in Hamilton” she said.

And she turned around and went away.xyz

I even didn’t know if they were like me with some sadness in heart.

Maybe they have used to all the leaving things of helper.

Maybe they just pretended not to care.

Hamilton is 2.5 hours south west away from Ballarat which is 1.5hour west of Melbourne.

Hamilton is the place near famous Mt. Grampians.

When I arrived at 12:30, the new host Katrin has already waited there.

She is a tall lady with a hat on her head.

She has different accent from Lori, my ex-host.

We went to kindergarten first and pick up her 5-year-old daughter, Arabella.

She is a very very very cute little girl and not afraid of me at all.

She likes to talk with me, shows me around and even asks me to play hide and see.

The most sweetest thing she’s done to me is

  1. “I want to sit next to Coconut!” she told her parents.

  2. She gave me a big hug before she was going to bed.

When we arrived at the house, which was in the town center, the other host, Louix, was at home and took care of their twin boys, who are only 2 years old.

Their names are Sylvester and Sebastian, which are not easy to memorize at once.

The only words they are able to say is “no” and “more” which are enough for them to get what they want.

Because the kids needed some afternoon break, so I had mine as well.

My room is upstairs and there is a big French window (落地窗) near the bed.

I can see the big tree just outside the window.

It’s like I live on the tree house and I have my own secret place.

I watched the movie ”slumdog millionary”(貧民百萬富翁) in front of the French window. It’s quiet nice!

This is guest room, very "story"

Photo/ guest room

I can see the sunrise every morning

Photo// I can see sunrise through the window

We had dinner around 5PM

The kids usually go to bed at 7:00.

Most of the lights are turned off after that.

I feel so sleepy after 7:30 after taking a shower.

It’s too bad for me to live an old woman’s life in Australia

My bed time is getting earlier and earlier….

Werribee Mansion & The Man From Snowy River

Date: 20090516 Sat.

Location: Werribee, Victoria

Werribee Mansion The Man From Snowy River.

My first stop is Lori’s parents’ house where we dropped Ash.

On the way there, Lori has kept pointing out the scenery it used to be and those related to her childhood.

There is still large territory belongs to Lori’s parents.

Lori’s parents look healthy and active and humorous

They showed me their “unusual pets” which are big turtle and blue-tongue lizard.

The head of the lizard is triangle and is just like the snake.

I still hold him in my arm and looked at his blue-tongue stretch out and in again and again.

After that, Lori dropped me in Werribee Mansion (Werribee宅第) because she and Libby were going to visit a friend.

The mansion was from 1880s when it belonged to private property but now belongs to Victoria government.

In the mansion, it still keeps the beautifully restored rooms with dedicated exhibitions.

Not only the mansion, but farm, a lake, some sculpture walk, and some restaurants are all here together called Werribee Park.

It took me 4 hours to explore them and I don’t think it was enough.

I was lucky because it stopped to rain just after I bought the ticket ($13.5).

The most interesting part was the fitting room.

All the guest are able to try on the 19 century garments and take photos as suverniors.

So I did it as well.

The tourist and the staffs were very nice and help me take photos.

I took lots of photos here.

However, the black hole on my camera was getting worse.

There are always black spot on the photos.

My camera is about time to retired now.

PS. More photos of Mansion are in the album

After mansion, Lori, Libby, Sanjay and me went to some shopping center to have lunch.

It was quiet a simple lunch that we made a sandwich with bread and half chicken in coles.

I was like a servant or Mary from Philippines who had to push the baby stroller, carry all the bags, and follow them as the last one in the queue.

I felt weird but that’s what I was supposed to do since I am a helper at Lori’s.

On our way home, Lori drove to the different way to show me the scenery nearby.

She drove me to the small hill and climbed up the tower where

we could have good view there to see all the farm and the beautiful sunset.

However, the cloudy sky wouldn’t let me to see the beautiful sunset.

xyz

It was almost 6:00 when we got home.

I rushed to start prepare horses’ food.

It was getting dark so I couldn’t see well in the dark hut.

I was kind of scared so I speeded up.

It is always very dark here when the night comes since there are not any lights on the road.

It was a clear sky tonight. I could see the South Cross again.

About later, we watched movie “The man from the snowy river” together.

It was a 1982 movie based on a poem “The Man from Snowy River” which is one of Australia's most famous poems written by one of Australia's most famous poets, Andrew Barton (Banjo) Paterson.

It was a movie about horses, brave man, love, and so on.

The movie was shot in the mountains in Victoria and had many beautiful scenery in the film.

It is not too boring to watch.

One of the scenes is about the brave man pasture cattle by a horse in the mountain.

Lori told me after movie that it has exited for a hundred years and some people still do it now in the mountains.

The mountains in the movie were open for cattleman to cattle until 5 years ago.

The government forbids such activities due to the factors of environments.

All the cattlemen and those horsemen rode their horses directly to the government in the Melbourne central city to protest.

One of the horses is Addie, which is her horse now

That’s an interesting story to me.

That’s my day today.

Date: 20090515 Fri.

Location: Buninyong, Victoria

Event: 1. It’s hard to build a house. 2. Scout Abseiling.

Ballarat

Tank water

Lori

xyz

xyz

Lori

AbseilingDr.eye

Ashalyn

Lori

Lori: would you like to do it once?

Ashalyn

Ashalyn

Let me talk to you for a second xyz資訊工坊
Ashalyn

“Good job! You’ve done very well” 底下的教練對每個抵達地面的孩子這麼說。

Hey, That’s Coconut!!

Yeah~It’s me!

you’ve done very well. Next time when you do it again, remember to…

I had a great time tonight.

Riding the horse into the bush

Date: 20090514 (Thu)

Location: Buninyong, Victoria

Event: Riding Horse into the bush.

DSCF4451.JPG

Lori.

It was cloudy today, and I don’t know why, nobody worked.

Since it was the weather which looked like rain, we didn’t do painting.

So I just stayed at my room and used the internet with a little guilty.

About 11 o’clock, Libby took us to the town Buninyong and did the laundry.

It was my first time to WAIT in the laundry shop until all the garments were dried.

Just like the movies or TV shows, people can do nothing but chat or read there.

So did we. We also grabbed some chips while waiting.

DSCF4441.JPG

In the afternoon, Lori brought us to have some horse walk in the bush.

xyz
Before that, we needed to brush the horse hair first.

Then putting on the saddle (馬鞍)and halter(韁繩)

Lori brought me a pair of Ash’s boots, in that way my feet wouldn’t get stuck.

 DSCF4447.JPG

I was more familiar this time and could jump on horse easily.

While into the bush, the horse walked mostly, and sometimes we did little trot(快步).

That was very exciting and scared.

Sometimes, there were cars and we needed to take the horse up a little to the hill and gave the way.

It was about one hour walk and my horse, Peppa, always wanted to be the leader.

She always walked quickly to the front and she seemed to know the way home.

The closer we approached the farm, the quicker she walked.

I felt sad that no one could take photo of me while riding in the bush.

xyz“It’s confidence! If you have confidence, the horse would know and they will behavior well. If you were scared, that would make them nervous as well” Lori told me the way to ride the horse.

After that, we were back to the practice place, and Peppa he just wanted to go home.

It became difficult to make him walk, and he kept getting closer to other horses or just looked at the way home.

Lori and the European couple, who have the licenses of riding horses, did some canter I could just do some trot aside.

That’s the day today and the European couple are leaving tomorrow.

It might be too quiet on the dinner table.

Date: 20090513 (Wed)

Location: Buninyong, Victoria

Event: Buninyong

Ballaratxyz

Sanjay

Oh My God!!!
